The living area is open and airy, with high pitched ceilings and a full wall of sliding doors. Open them all the way and the living room and terrace become one space, with the sea breeze running straight through.

The kitchen sits along one wall of the open-plan room, with a round marble-topped dining table seating four. A comfortable sofa looks out toward the terrace and the water beyond. A washer and dryer are tucked away in their own laundry closet.

Both bedrooms have queen beds, air conditioning and their own bathroom. That makes the apartment an easy fit for a couple, a small family or two friends travelling together.

​OUTDOOR LIVING

The terrace is where the day happens. It's covered, cooled by a ceiling fan and the trade winds, and looks straight out over the palms to the beach, the pool and the boats on Spanish Water. Have breakfast at the table, read on the lounge sofa in the afternoon and finish with dinner as the light fades over the water.

Downstairs, a wide infinity pool sits right at the water's edge, with palapas and loungers spread along a private white-sand beach. A smaller plunge pool beside the building offers a quieter place to cool off.

Curaçao’s heat and humidity are part of its charm, but they’re hard on a home: towels and linens lose their freshness quickly, and even small crumbs can draw in the island’s ever-curious ants. A mid-stay clean includes laundering all sheets and towels and a full clean of the home, so it feels like day one again. It’s $175, which simply covers our cost, and we’ll find a time that suits your plans. Additional cleans can be arranged at any point during your stay at the same rate. Just ask.

ENERGY TRANSPARENCY:

Electricity at La Marina is billed separately from the nightly rate. Usage is metered at the start and end of your stay and charged at $0.50 per kWh, settled after checkout from the security deposit. Most guests spend around $12 - $16 per night. Curaçao's trade winds keep the apartment naturally cool through the day, and most guests find they only need air conditioning at night with doors and windows closed. Keeping doors and windows shut while the air conditioning runs makes the single biggest difference to what you use. We tell you this before you book rather than after you leave, because nobody likes a surprise on the way home.​

HOUSE RULES

• Parties or events are not allowed without consent; respectful use of the property is expected

• There is no smoking indoors and while we love pets, they are not permitted

• Kindly keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM

• Accidents happen. Please report any damages or breakages promptly 

• Security: For your safety, always lock doors and windows when leaving the property.

• To avoid plumbing issues, please do not flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilets. There is a garbage in each bathroom for everything other than toilet paper. ​
